The full schedule for the 2017 Brier at Mile One Centre

Although the Tim Hortons Brier Canadian men's curling championship gets underway Saturday at Mile One Centre in St. John's, the Brier pre-qualifier has already started. Here, Nunavut lead Darryl McGrath, who is a native of Fogo Island, watches his rock as teammates Edmund MacDonald (left) and Greg Howard sweep during their opening game against Prince Edward Island at Mile One Thursday night. P.E.I. won 11-4. In the other game in the first draw of the pre-qualifying competition, Nova Scotia defeated the Yukon 8-2. The four teams are playing a round-robin competition, with the top two finishers squaring off Saturday. The winner of that game advances to the main draw of the Brier, beginning this weekend at Mile One.
