ST. JOHN’S – Adam Casey’s Saskatchewan rink completed play at the 2017 Tim Horton’s Brier with a 5-6 (won-lost) record on Thursday night.

Casey, a native of Seven Mile Bay, dropped a 7-6 decision to British Columbia’s John Morris (7-4), and earlier in the day fell 8-5 to Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs (8-3).
Casey’s teammates are third stone Catlin Schneider, second stone Shaun Meachem and lead Dustin Kidby.

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue rink, which includes second stone Brett Gallant of Charlottetown, edged Team Canada’s Kevin Koe 7-6 in an extra end on Thursday night. Both teams took identical 7-2 records into that game.
In the afternoon draw, Gushue pulled out an 8-7 extra-end decision over Ontario’s Glenn Howard (3-7).
