Former St. John's IceCaps on the move as free agency begins

A number of former members of the St. John’s IceCaps were among those changing teams on Sunday, the first day of National Hockey League free agency.
Forward Chris Terry, who led the American Hockey League in scoring with the Montreal Canadiens-affiliated Laval Rocket last season, signed a two-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings.
Also leaving the Canadiens organization were forward Daniel Carr and goaltender Zach Fucale, both going to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Goaltender Michael Hutchinson, who played with the IceCaps when they were the farm team of the Winnipeg Jets, signed with the Florida Panthers, while defenceman Joel Hanley, who had been a Canadiens farmhand in St. John’s, is now with the Dallas Stars after spending last season with the Arizona Coyotes organization.
Carr and Hutchinson got one-way contracts. The others receive two-way deals, although Terry is expected to be due significant money under the minor-league terms of his pact.
One other ex-IceCap was on the move over the weekend. That was forward Joel Armia, who went from the Jets to the Canadiens in a trade.
