The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association has named its athletes of the month for November and October.

Four of those named — Jessie Pope, Jessie Noseworthy, Alex Pretty and Tyler Forsey — are graduating seniors with the Memorial University Sea-Hawks varsity teams

On the female side, Pope was named athlete of the month for September, while Noseworthy took top honours for October among senior ladies. Both played for Holy Cross Avalon Ford, champions of the Breen’s Jubilee Trophy league in addition to the Sea-Hawks.

Isabella Ryan of Marystown was named junior female athlete of the month for September, while Lauren Taylor of St. John’s took top honours in the division for October.

For senior men, Forsey was named athlete of the month for September, while Pretty took October honours. Both Forsey — who led the Challenge Cup provincial senior men’s in scoring — and Pretty, a defender, were members of the Challenge Cup champion Holy Cross Kirby Group. Pretty was named MVP of the Challenge Cup playoff tourney.

Among junior men, Kirmosa Kedir Hansen of the St. John’s under-13 boy’s team was recognized for his contributions at the U13 Atlantics in September, while Jacob Grant, who despite his youth is another member of the Holy Cross senior men’s team, took October honours on the strength of his play at Challenge Cup nationals.
