Dave Hann Jr. of St. John’s outlasted 91 other bowlers to win the Main Event as the Newfoundland Bowling Tour held its recent 2018 Body Quest Challenge at Paradise Bowl.

Hann, a multi-time national champion, defeated Brad Glynn in the finals, adding his first NBT title to an impressive bowling resume. Meagan Gallicano placed third.

Stephen Browne and Shane Chafe were winners of the High Roller Doubles. The team lead from start to finish and averaged over 270. The event featured 10 teams of the top-ranked bowlers in the province competing in a match play format. Kelley Hann and Stephen Woods finished second, missing out on the top prize by a mere 29 pins. Third place went to Gallicano and Johnathan Brennan.

The Thompson Financial 3-6-9 Bakers event saw 20 teams square off in a non-traditional scoring format. The winning team consisted of Brittany Whitten, Michelle DiBattista and Sharla Nurse as they held off Brandon Tibbs, Mike Upshall, and Mike Howlett in the final game.

The three events awarded a combined $12,000 in prizes, with 37 different bowlers cashing in. Stephen Browne, who placed in all three events, was the top money winner in the event.

The next NBT event is tentatively scheduled for April, 2019 when the Tour is expected to surpass the $50,000 milestone in total prizes since its creation.
