Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador has announced its staffs for high performance programs (HPP) in various age groups this year.
Provincial teams in the male under-14, male U15, female U16 and female U18 divisions will compete against the provincial teams from Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick at the 2018 Atlantic Challenge Cup, Oct. 5-8 in Moncton, N.B.
The male U16 side will face off against entries from the same three Maritime provinces in a pre-Canada Winter Games tournament in the fall of 2018.
The high performance program has seen a new staff position added, with strength and conditioning coach Jonathan Reid overseeing all the teams. His duties will relate will not be limited to; warm-ups, cool-downs, fitness testing, hydration and injury prevention.
Registration for spring HPP identification camps has started and is available online at http://hockeynl.ca/development/high-performance-program. Following these camps, selected players will attend the provincial summer camp in Corner Brook in August.
