The first-place CeeBees didn’t lose back-to-back games all season — in fact, they suffered only three losses overall — but the Eagles might be feeling confident of pulling off consecutive victories after a 4-2 win Wednesday night at the Danny Cleary Centre in Harbour Grace.
Andrew White, Liam Myers, Andrew Smith and Steve Yetman scored for the Eagles, who got a 26-save performance from Mark Yetman.
Robert Slaney and Sam Roberts replied for the home side. CeeBees netminder A.J. Whiffen stopped 19 of 23 shots.
Game time tonight at Jack Byrne Arena is 8 o’clock. Game 3 is 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Harbour Grace.
The series winner advances to the Herder Memorial Trophy provincial final against the Central West Senior Hockey League champions. The CWSHL final — between the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts and Clarenville Caribous starts Saturday night in Grand Falls.
