Breakers, Caps to square off Thursday for first place in SJJHL

A rare Thursday-night game in the St. John’s Junior Jockey League will produce a rare treat this week as the first-place Southern Shore Breakers and second-place St. John’s Caps square off at Twin Rinks in a battle for top spot.

St. John’s trails Southern Shore by a single point. Both have played 18 games.
It is the only regularly-scheduled Thursday game on the 2016-17 SJJHL schedule.

The two teams are coming off extra-time wins Sunday.

The Breakers were taken to overtime by teh last-place Northeast Eagles, while St. John;s beat the Mount Pearl Blades in a shootout.
