It will be the St. John’s Green Sleeves Caps taking on the Southern Shore Puglisevich Breakers in the first-ever East Coast Senior Hockey League final.

The Caps blanked the Conception Bay Hickman Chrysler Blues 6-0 Sunday night at the Conception Bay South Arena to take their best-of-seven semifinal 4-2.

St. John’s goalie Kyle Downer made 31 saves for the shutout.

The weekend startee with the series tied 2-2 before the Caps eked out a 3-2 victory over the Blues in Game 5 Friday night at Twin Rinks.

The Breakers had earned their berth in the final last weekend, knocking off the Northeast Eagles in five games in their semifinal.

St. John’s and Southern Shore had finished 1-2 in the regular-season standings of the ECSHL, which was formed after the demise of the Avalon East circuit.

The schedule for the final is to be announced.
