The CeeBees hold a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and can book a place in the league final with a win over defending champion CeeBees 7:30 p.m. at the Danny Cleary Community Centre in Harbour Grace.
The CeeBees, who finished first in the regular season, are undefeated in 14 games at home in 2016-17, including two contests in this series.
The Caps will be looking to extend the semifinal to a Game 6 that would be played 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Goulds Sports Arena. To do so, they’ll probably need to produce more offence — St. John’s has just four goals in the first four games of the series.
The other semifinal will definitely go to six games.
That one, between the Tapper's Northeast and Puglisevich Southern Shore Breakers is deadlocked at 2-2 heading into Game 5, set for 8 o’clock tonight at Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay. Game 6 goes 7 p.m. Sunday at the Southern Shore Arena in Mobile. The home team has won every game so far in the series.
CeeBees one win away from place in AESHL final
The Harbour Grace Ocean Enterprises CeeBee Stars will be right where they want to be when as they take to the ice Saturday in Game 5 of their Avalon Senior Hockey League semifinal series against the St. John’s Green Sleeves Caps.
