CeeBees win on Wednesday, take 3-2 lead in AESHL final

Team captain Matthew Thomey scored the game-winner five minutes into the second period as the Harbour Grace Ocean Enterprises CeeBee Stars defeated the Tapper's Northeast Eagles 3-1 in Game 5 of the team's Avalon East Senior Hockey League final Wednesday night at the Danny Cleary Community Centre.

The result means the CeeBees lead the best-of-seven series 3-2. They’ll have a chance to take the league title and earn a berth in the Herder Trophy provincial senior championship with a win in Game 6 at Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay Friday night at 8 o'clock.
Wednesday’s game was originally scheduled for last Saturday but was postponed due to weather conditions
Sam Roberts and Andrew Fenwick also scored for the CeeBees Wednesday. Andrew White opened the scoring with a first-period power play tally for the Eagles.
A.J. Whiffen got the win in net, while Mark Yetman took the loss.
