The hometown entry from Bay Roberts won the provincial under-13 ball hockey championship Sunday at Bay Arena, defeating the CeBee Stars 3-1 in a game that was a one-goal affair until a late empty-netter.

It was an even more dramatic finish in the under-11 provincial final as the Exploits Valley Chiefs edged Hickey’s Timber Mart of Paradise 4-3 in a game that went to double overtime. The winning goal came on a penalty shot.
