Rogers Hometown Hockey will be celebrating its fifth year with a visit to 25 communities across the country during the 2018-19 NHL season, including a stop in Mount Pearl Nov. 17-18. It was announced Tuesday in Mount Pearl the live show, hosted by Rogers Sportsnet’s Ron McLean and Tara Slone, on Nov. 19 will be staged in the parking lot of the Mount Pearl Summit Centre, adjacent to the Mount Pearl Glacier arena. A game between the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers will be broadcast on a large screen outside the rink. Tuesday’s news certainly excited a group of hockey players, between the ages of 7 to 13, who were participating in the Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador/Hockey Canada Summer Skills Camp taking place at the Glacier Arena 2 this week.
