The juggernaut that has been the Western Kings continued its rollercoaster run through the Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League over the weekend in Corner Brook with a couple of wins over the Tri Pen Osprey, 5-3 on Saturday and 6-3 Sunday.
The results means the Kings have won all 18 of their games so far this season and all in regulation.
League-leading point-getter Andrew Antle scored four times for Western on Saturday and followed up with a goal and two assists in the rematch. Antle has 15 goals and 20 assists in 18 games,.
The Kings, who averaged more than 50 shots on the weekend (104 in total), have outscore opponents 97-38 this season.
Meanwhile, at the Glacier in Mount Pearl the St. John’s Maple Leafs and East Coast Blizzard split their weekend meetings.
On Saturday, Nick Gosse had two goals and two assists for the Leafs and goaltender Michael Fisher made 19 saves for the Leafs. The Blizzard bounced back Sunday as Ethan Stuckless scored twice and Andrew d’Entremont had 29 saves for his first major midget win.
