The St. John’s Maple Leafs are 1-1 after two days of play at the 2018 Atlantic major midget hockey championship in Lantz, N.S., following a 3-1 loss to the Cole Harbour Wolfpack Friday.

The loss came after a 7-0 St. John’s win over the Moncton Flyers on Thursday.

Nick Gosse had the lone goal for the Leafs Friday, a third-period tally. Goalie Andrew Curtis stopped 26 of 29 shots.

Against the Flyers Thursday, player of the game Gosse led the way with a goal and four assists, and Reagan Seymour fired three goals. At the other end of the rink, Michael Fisher made 35 saves for the shutout.

Aaron Greenham, Lucas Osmond and Chris Martell also scored for the winners, and Logan Brothers collected three assists.

St. John’s plays twice on Saturday, against the Kensington, P.E.I. Wild and Dartmouth Steele Subaru.

The final goes 1:30 p.m. (NL time) Sunday.
