Locals off to Ontario universities

Four other players from Newfoundland have been recruited to play hockey for Canadian schools in U-Sports conferences this fall.

Kyle Tibbo, the Maritime Junior Hockey League’s most valuable player last season, is set to join the Ryerson University Rams.

All are headed to Ontario schools.

• Maritime Junior Hockey League most valuable player and Conception Bay South native Kyle Tibbo, who was captain of the Truro Bearcats last season, is set to join the Ryerson (Toronto) Rams.

• Michael Constantine, who is also from C.B.S. and was the MHL’s top defenceman with the Miramichi Timberwolves, has committed to the Carelton (Ottawa) Ravens.

• Forward Luke McCaw of St. John’s, who was with the Central Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Ottawa Jr. Senators in 2016-17, is joining the Laurentian (Sudbury) Voyageurs,

• Brad Power of St. John’s, who had been a forward with the Corpus Christi IceRays, is joining the University of Ontario Institute of Technology Ridgebacks.
