Canadian national under-18 team member Maggie Connors of St. John’s helped Shattuck-St. Mary’s prep school win USA Hockey’s under-19 national women’s championship over the weekend in Marlborough, Mass.

It was the third straight U19 national title for Shattuck, the well-known Minnesota prep school which helped groom Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Toews, among others.

Shattuck beat Detroit’s Belle Tire 5-1 in the final, with Connors scoring one of her team’s goals.

Connors was part of Canada’s squad which won the bronze medal in the world women’s U18 championship in Russia in January.

She is finishing up her final year at Shattuck, and will attend New Jersey’s Princeton University in the fall. She will skate for the Tigers’ NCAA Division One hockey team next season.
