Canada improved to 1-1 at the world under-18 women’s hockey championship with a 4-0 win over Sweden Sunday in Dmitrov, Russia.

Maggie Connors of St. John’s, the lone Newfoundland player on the squad, was held off the scoresheet.

Connors did pick up an assist Saturday in Canada’s 3-2 loss to Russia.

A 17-year-old forward, Connors plays at Shattuck-St. Mary’s prep school in Faribault, Minn. She played for the Canadian U18 squad in a series of games against the United States in August.

Connors has committed to attend Princeton University in New Jersey.
