It took plenty of hard work but the Town of Meadows is ready to add a roof to its outdoor rink.

The announcement was made on the Meadows Rink’s Facebook page Tuesday afternoon and is sure to be greeted with plenty of excitement, especially among those in the community itself.

The roof is another piece to an expanding recreation complex in Meadows.

The town had already received provincial and federal funding for the project, but were still required to raise money to cover off the rest of it.

Through a variety of efforts, the $108,000 needed to complete the project were raised over the summer months.

While a contractor is in place and a contract has been signed, the construction season is winding down and the project won’t be started until next spring.
