• Defending champion Southern Shore Breakers won their first game, 5-2 over the C.B.N. Stars at the Bay Arena in Bay Roberts.  

• Riley Akerman stopped 42 shots as the Stars beat the St. John’s Caps 5-3 at Twin Rinks

• The homestanding Mount Pearl Blades beat the CBR Renegades 5-3 at The Glacier

• At Jack Byrne Arena, Josh Langmead made 38 saves and Ben Roberts scored twice as the Northeast Eagles beat the Trinity-Placentia Flyers 4-3
