Three provincial senior hockey teams play their first interlocking games of the season this weekend in Clarenville.
The East Coast Senior Hockey League’s Northeast Eagles and St. John’s Green Sleeves Caps visit the Eastlink Events Centre to take on the Central West Senior Hockey League’s Clarenville Ford Caribous, with the ‘Bous hosting the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. today before tangling with the ECSHL-leading Caps 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Both circuits also have non-interleague games this weekend. The Caps downed the Southern Shore Puglisevich Breakers 3-2 in a shootout in an ECSHL contest at Twin Rinks Friday night, while in the CWSHL, the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts and Gander Ford Flyers meet up today (7:30 p.m.) and Sunday (1:30 p.m.) at Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium in Grand Falls.
Despite all the contests, the East Coast league’s Hickman Chrysler Conception Bay Blues don’t see any action this weekend.
