The St. John’s Green Sleeves Caps extended their first-place lead in the East Coast Senior Hockey League with a pair wins in weekend road games
On Friday at Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay, the Caps (8-3-0) registered a 5-2 win over the Northeast Eagles (2-6-1) and followed up with a 5-1 victory over the Conception Bay Blues (2-6-0) on Saturday night at the C.B.S. Arena.
There was one other league game over the weekend. That was Friday night in C.B.S., where the Southern Shore Puglisevich Breakers (4-4-2) edged the Blues 2-1.
The league has three more games over the next eight days before a Christmas break of more than two weeks.
