Twenty-four local soccer players are in British Columbia for the annual Vancouver Whitecaps under-13/under-14 High Performance Combine in Richmond, B.C.

Starting today, the event runs until next Saturday in Richmond, B.C., featuring training sessions and scouting from Whitecaps FC Academy staff, competitive matches against other Academy Centers, presentations and classroom sessions from Whitecaps FC directors and professional players, and a match of distinction where tournament all-stars will have the opportunity to play against the Whitecaps FC Residency Elite boys/girls teams.

Newfoundland athletes attending the events are:

Isabella Ryan (Burin Peninsula Soccer Association), Lauren Rowe, Jessie Ball, Isabella Hoddinott, Grace Nolan and Hannah Fudge (C.B.S. Strikers) and Erica Murphy, Olivia Browne, Mary Whiffen, Stephanie Thoms and Pernille Jarding (St. John’s Soccer Club). Staff includes Maria Mackey and Dragan Mirkovic.

Boys attending are Finlay Stephen, Ethan Strickland, Josh Peddle, Finley Manning, Anderson Pritchard, Dylan Owens, Owen Afonso and Braedon Harvey from the Feildians Athletic Association, Marcus Patterson from Paradise Soccer Club and Kirk Edwards, Santiago Wozney, Alvaro Novo and Anyang Achiek from the St. John’s Soccer Club. Staff travelling are Alex McNutt, Scott Edwards and Mike Power.
