Boland goes yard against Hitmen

Shane Boland had three hits, including a three-run home run and solo shot, knocking in four runs, as Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs beat NTV Hitmen 9-2 in six innings in one of two St. John’s Molson senior men’s softball games Thursday night at Lions Park.

Jon Kelly also had three hits, including his 57th career double. Andrew Wade had a pair as Blair Ezekiel won over Johnny Doyle. Eddie MacDonald also pitched for NTV.

Chris Murphy hit a two-run homer in a losing cause.

In another game, the Canada Games squad slipped past 3Cheers Bud Light Dodgers 6-4 on Mitch Stack’s two-run single in the seventh inning.

Eric Healey won over Colin Walsh.

Jordan Pomeroy and Nick Pittman both had two hits for the winners. Issac Power, who hit a two-run home run, and Steve Pittman collected two hits apiece for the Dodgers.

Of note were Braden Mercer and Logan Power, who both collected their first career senior league hits for the Dodgers.
