Penney helped lead the Shammies to their second straight St. John’s Molson Senior Baseball League championship this week, completing a four-game sweep of the RMM Gonzaga Vikings.
In the final game Tuesday night at St. Pat’s Ball Park, Penney was the hero, delivering a double to right field with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning scoring Brent Power with the winning run.
Penney finished the game 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Penney homered in the Shamrocks’ 9-1 Game 2 win last Saturday.
