City athletes pick up medals at 2018 Atlantic Beach Volleyball Championships held in Halifax over the weekend.

Ashley Jacobs and Alyssa Warford won gold in the 18U age group at the 2018 Atlantic Beach Volleyball Championships held in Halifax over the weekend.

The Corner Brook duo defeated Olivia Day and Jade Curwin of Nova Scotia 19-21, 21-16, 15-10 in the best-of-three final showdown in the sand. Brianna Chaulk and Katelyn Cleary finished ninth out of 10 teams in the 18U female division.

Corner Brook’s Michael White and Ian Taylor teamed up to claim bronze in the 16U male division by edging Liam Pelletier and Tommy Brown of New Brunswick 16-21, 21-14, 15-8, while Corner Brook’s Julianne King and Ashley Parsons finished fifth out of 16 teams despite finishing with a 6-1 record.

Corner Brook’s Chris LeRoy and Robbie MacDonald finished fourth in the senior men's division, while Rebecca Pike and Julie Robbins finished fifth in the senior women’s event.
