The tournament will take place July 21-23. Besides the host team, the event will feature New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, P.E.I. and defending champion Quebec.

This will be the seventh time for the Cricket Canada-sanctioned tournament, but will be the first time in this province.

The 2016 Eastern Canadians were held in Halifax, where Newfoundland placed third.

All matches in the championship will be played at RCAF Field (off Torbay Road), on a new purpose-built pitch.

Cricket Canada national team selectors will take in the tourney to evaluate potential players for the national program.
