The playoff-bound St. John’s Edge kick off their ticket sales for the post season today.

National Basketball League of Canada playoffs are a best-of-five series for the divisional semifinal, and best-of-seven affairs for the divisional final and championship final.

Tickets for the first three home games of the first round go on sale noon today at the Mile One Centre box office. Fans can also purchase tickets online at www.mileonecentre.com, or by calling 576-7657.

The Edge are back in action this weekend, playing host to the defending league champion London Lightning tonight and Sunday afternoon at Mile One.

The Lightning lead the Central Division with a 21-11 record, just ahead of the 21-12 Edge.

The weekend series (game time tonight is 7 p.m., while Sunday’s game goes at 2 p.m.) also feature the league’s top two scorers going head-to-head. Carl English of St. John’s, who sat out a two-game series against Halifax this week, leads the league with a 25.3 points-per-game average. London’s Royce White is next at 24.3 PPG.

White, from Minnesota, is the reigning NBL Canada MVP. He’s a former first round draft pick (16th overall) by the NBA’s Houston Rockets.
