Finalists set for intermediate final

Johnny O’Reilly struck out 18 hitters as LaFontaine Club doubled C.B.C. Junior Canadians 6-3 to advance to the Molson St. John's Intermediate Men's Softball League final.

LaFontaine took the best-of-three semifinal in straight games.

Wednesday night at Lions Park, O’Reilly scattered five hits. He struck out the side in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Jeremy Walsh (7IP, 6R, 10H, 4BB, 1K) took the loss.

Brent Hatfield, Colby Murphy, Russell Woodman and Paul Maher all had two hits apiece for the winners. Woodman had a two-run home run.

Coady Furey had two hits in a losing cause.

The best-of-five final between Lafontaine Club and Bay Roberts Coors Light opened last night. Game 2 is 8 p.m. tonight at Lions Park.
