Four athletes and two coaches from Boxing Newfoundland and Labrador took part in a 10-bout card over the weekend in Halifax held at the Sheraton Hotel and Casino in Halifax.
Athletes from all four Atlantic provinces participated.
Noah Squires of the TRC Boxing Club in St. John’s lost his bout to Kyle Woodworth of Glace Bay, N.S., in a split decision; James Thorne of TRC won a unanimous decision over Mason MacKeigan of North Sydney, N.S.; Mitchell Lahey of the C.B.S/ Boxing Club lost a unanimous decision to Ryan Collier, another North Sydney boxer; and Nick Callahan of TRC dropped a unanimous decision to Tamini Jorche of Halifax.
The four Newfoundlanders were accompanied by coaches Jason Hayward and Todd Rideout.
