The Trepassey Posse road cycling event goes this Saturday and Sunday, with some 30-40 cyclists making the trek from St. John’s to Trepassey and back.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, cyclists will leave from the Shoppers Drug Mart parking at the corner of Topsail Road and Columbus Drive, then peddle the 145 kilometres up the Southern Shore, ending the day in Trepassey. After an overnight stay there, the ride continues for another 165 kilometers around the Irish Loop, back along the Salmonier Line and returning to St .John’s.
Motorists are asked to keep an eye out for cyclists and take note of the several support vehicles with “Bike Ride Ahead” signage accompanying the cyclists along the route.
