Levi Moulton had the best performance among Memorial Sea-Hawks cross-country runners at the St. Francis Xavier Invitational in Antigonish, N.S., on Saturday, finishing fifth in a field of 38 male runners.

The St. FX Invitational was the second event on the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) 2018 cross-country calendar, but the first for Memorial athletes, who did not compete in the season-opening races earlier this month in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Moulton, who had a time of 28 minutes and 1.34 seconds over the eight-kilometre men’s course, was one of three Sea-Hawks runners among the top 10 male finishers, with Christopher Galley (28.37.33) in eighth and Tyler Cole (28.34.73) ninth. That helped give the Memorial men second place in the team competition behind host St. FX.

There were two other Memorial runners in the men’s race — Nick Snow (17th) and Alexander Pitman (25th).

The Sea-Hawks had two runners in the women’s 6km event at Antigonish. Hannah Cooke was 22nd while Danielle Seviour was 24th among 42 finishers.
