All three Newfoundlanders who took part in a recent selection camp for Canada’s under-20 men’s rugby program have made the 26-man roster of a team that will represent Canada in a World Rugby Trophy qualifier against the United States next month.
Stephen Mallard, a tight head prop from the Swilers club; Ben Newhook, a second row player from the Vandals; and Jack McCarthy, a wing and also from the Vandals, took part in the 43-player camp at Shawinigan Lake School in British Columbia.
