Point guard Coron Williams, who was the most efficient three-point shooter on the St. John’s Edge during the team’s first season in the National Basketball League of Canada, will play in Argentina this winter.

The 28-year-old Williams has signed with La Unión de Formosa, a team in Liga Nacional de Básquetbol, the top circuit in Argentina.
"Thanks to the @stjohnsedge family/fans for the love & support this past season," Williams posted on his Twitter account (@coronw13).

"There’s no way I will forget the unique experience I had playing in front of you guys! I have nothing but love for the first class organization that you are!
Williams joined the Edge in January and appeared in 18 regular-season and all nine playoff games for the Edge. He averaged 14 points per game, fourth-best on the team, while playing, on average, more than 25 minutes per contest.
He sank nearly half his three-point shots (71 for 146), for a 48.6 average, best on the team.
Born in Italy to a military family, Williams grew up in South Carolina. He played collegiately at Robert Morris and Wake Forest before embarking on a professional career that took him to Italy and then to Maine and Greensboro of the NBA-G League before he joined the Edge.
Williams was one of seven players on the Edge’s official protected list released earlier this summer.
