The Paradise Soccer Club made history Wednesday night with a 3-1 win over Mount Pearl ProActive Physio in Johnson Insurance Challenge Cup play Wednesday night.
It was the first-ever win for Paradise, which joined the provincial senior men’s soccer league this year. The team had lost its first five contests, getting outscored 11-1 in the process.
At the Dianne Whelan Soccer Complex in Paradise, the home side opened the scoring on Reese Morgan's goal five minutes in followed up with another marker — the eventual game-winner — from Daniel Younghoon Lee at 26 minutes
Mount Pearl (0-2-2) got on the board with a tally from Mark Mackey with about 15 minutes left in the contest, but Serag Alfarek scored in the game’s late, late stages to seal the deal for Paradise.
