Just a couple of days after returning from the Brier in Regina, skip Greg Smith and his Newfoundland and Labrador men’s champions were back on the ice in St. John’s, playing in the last regularly scheduled draw of the season in the Re/Max SuperLeague.

The Smith rink downed Glen Goss’s foursome 7-0, but the result didn’t have any bearing on which four teams are advancing to playoffs.

Those four teams — skipped by Andrew Symonds, Colin Thomas, Adam Boland and Paul Harvey — will begin the Page Playoffs next week. Symonds and Thomas, the first and second seeds, respectively, are playing in the 1-2 game and Boland and Harvey squaring off in the 3-4 matchup.

However, a few non-playoff teams still have games remaining. That’s because some postponed round-robin contests still need to be played in order to determine the prize payouts that are based on final standings.
