In Halifax, Jacob Grant netted a pair of goals, and Dolo and Felly Elonda had singles as Newfoundland beat Nova Scotia 4-2. Dolo potted three goals and Mitchell Barry had one as Newfoundland beat P.E.I. 4-1, and Elonda netted the game’s only goal as Newfoundland defeated New Brunswick 1-0.

To kick off their preparation in the stretch leading up to the Winnipeg Games in August, the provincial Games team played a pair of exhibition games over the Easter holidays in Ontario and Quebec, losing 3-2 to Ontario and 4-0 to Quebec.

The team is entered in the provincial Challenge Cup league on an exhibition basis, playing 18 games. Their season opens 7 o’clock Wednesday evening in C.B.S.

The Games squad will be training two to three days a week over the summer, in addition to one or two Challenge Cup games per week.

The men’s soccer competition is scheduled for Aug. 7-12, and Newfoundland is in a group with New Brunswick and the Northwest Territories.
