The St. John’s Capitals look to make it two straight championships, and nine in the past 10 years, at the 2018 Molson provincial junior baseball championship which opens Friday evening at Jubilee Field in Corner Brook.
The Caps won the 2017 provincial crown, beating the Corner Brook Barons in a playoff tie-breaker at Smallwood Field before doubling the homestanding Mount Pearl Blazers 10-5 in the final.
Those same three teams are set to battle in Corner Brook this weekend, along with the C.B.S. Raiders.
