MARYSTOWN, NL — The Town of Marystown announced it is creating a $1,000 scholarship in honour of Kaetlyn Osmond.

Mayor Sam Synard made the announcement during a social for the world figure skating champion and three-time Olympic medallist’s homecoming at St. Gabriel’s Hall on Saturday, April 14.

Osmond, also a three-time Canadian champion, now lives and trains in Alberta.

Synard told The Southern Gazette on Tuesday a policy regarding the eligibility for the Kaetlyn Osmond Ice Crystals Scholarship would be in place by the start of the next skating season in October.
