Carrie Parker spotted this tiny red newt - known as the eastern newt - in Middle Stewiacke, N.S. Apparently, the striking, bright orange tells us this salamander is in its juvenile stage.
In the wild, these little creatures have a lifespan of 12 to 15 years.
