President and CEO of Hyundai Canada, Don Romano was in St. John’s Thursday for a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Capital Hyundai dealership, and a customer appreciation event Thursday evening.

Guests celebrated the launch of two new Hyundai models — all-new Santa Fe and Kona — and learned details of the new dealership. At 68,000 square feet, it will be double the size of the current location, making it the largest Hyundai dealership in Canada when it’s completed in 2020. The larger location will mean a near doubling of employees, to 150 local staff.

Premier Dwight Ball and St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen were also on hand at the groundbreaking ceremony Thursday afternoon.
