ST. JOHN’S — Global fashion retailed H&M is headed to St. John’s.
H&M (Hennes & Mauritz Inc.) announced Wednesday it will open its first location in Newfound and Labrador at the Avalon Mall in St. John’s.
The new outlet is due to open in 2020.
“We are thrilled to announce our upcoming opening in the Avalon Mall as part of our continued expansion in the Canadian market,” Frederic Tavoukdjian, country manager of H&M Canada said in a release. “We have been waiting for a great location and are very happy to have found one.”
H&M made its debut in the Canadian market in 2004 and today operated 86 stores across the country.
As the company moves towards its opening dates it has begun the hiring process to fill an estimated 25 retail positions at the new store. Details on the employment opportunities are available at career.hm.com.
