CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Intuit Inc. will be bringing 45 new jobs to Newfoundland and Labrador through the introduction of its Prosperity Hub in Corner Brook.

In a prepared release, the maker of TurboTax, QuickBooks and Mint said the Prosperity Hub is the first to be launched as part of a nationwide program.

The program is part of Together We Prosper, a new initiative by Intuit designed to spark economic growth in communities in need of opportunities through job creation and access to training.

These will be work-from-home jobs, as well as vocational training to expand community members' expertise. The work-from-home roles will support QuickBooks and TurboTax customers, and are scheduled to be filled by January 2020.

Corner Brook was chosen based on it having the right people to work these jobs, community support for economic development and because it is a location where job creation will spur sustainable growth.

As part of the program, Intuit will work with Sitel Group to hire full-time employees, with opportunities for advancement within Sitel. The company says training will be provided and the jobs will pay above-average wages.

Sitel Group will be hosting a job fair at Grenfell Campus, Memorial University in Corner Brook Nov. 5-7. The event will include a range of information on current job availability and training options prospective candidates can explore.
