Kraken Robotics Systems Inc. has two more reasons to celebrate.
The Mount Pearl company has just been named one of the Top 50 Fastest growing technology, media and telecommunications companies in Canada by Deloitte, and among the Top 500 Fastest growing tech companies in Noth America.
The winners are selected by finance and consulting company Deloitte, based on revenue-growth percentage over the last four years of operation (2016-19).
Kraken recorded phenomenal revenue growth of 567 percent during that period to make the lists.
Shauna Cotie, marketing manager for Kraken Robotics Inc. said other big wins for the company this year included the signing of contracts to supply robotic minehunting systems to the Danish Navy and the Polish Navy. The Danish contract alone was worth $36 million.
Cotie said the company’s Our OceanVision™ contract under Canada’s Ocean Supercluster is also moving ahead.
“We have completed three successful offshore campaigns since the project commenced,” she said.
The company employs approximately 125 people.
Cotie said as the Polish and Danish Navy contracts begin to be delivered in 2021, Kraken will be hiring more staff member in Atlantic Canada.
Two other companies from Atlantic Canada made the Top 50 list. They were Proposify of Halifax and Introhive of Fredericton, NB.
One East Coast company, Mysa Smart Thermostats of St. John’s, was one of the 16 Canadian companies to make Deloitte's Companies to Watch Award list.
