Nalcor Energy is being rewarded for its focus on responsible environmental, social and economic principles and commitment to the principles of sustainable development.

The crown corporation was designated as a sustainable electricity company by the Canadian Electricity Association. The designation was established to further advance the integration of sustainability considerations in company decision-making processes.

President and CEO Stan Marshall stated in a news release that the honour is a result of employee dedication and hard work.

“This designation will help deepen our unwavering commitment to minimize the impact our work has on communities where we operate, as we develop and manage Newfoundland and Labrador’s rich resources in a way that considers safety, environmental stewardship and our communities,” the release reads.
