A little piece of Newfoundland and Labrador started trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) Tuesday.

Biome Grow, an Ontario-based cannabis company, is the parent company of Back Home Medical Cannabis Corp. in Barachois Brook on the province’s west coast. Biome stepped in to acquire the company late last year from St. George’s entrepreneur Dave Callahan, who has stayed on as president of the subsidiary.

Biome suggests a public listing will provide increased visibility with global investors, improve liquidity and allow for a more diversified shareholder base.

The company also owns Nova Scotia-based Highland Grow, which is already a licensed medical cannabis producer, as well P-209 in Norwich, Ont. Biome also owns Weed VR, a proprietary multi-platform virtual retail catalogue system.
