The Indian Express is the latest food truck to open in St. John’s.

It officially opened Friday evening and was more popular than owner Jerry Joy expected — he sold out of food within the first two hours.

The Indian Express is set up for the winter months at 11 Major’s Path on the Pit Crew parking lot, serving a different set meal each day from Tuesday to Saturday during the supper hour.

Also a realtor, Joy said he cooked traditional Indian food informally for realtor events and was told he should open a restaurant.

“I thought a food truck is a safer way to go – if it goes well, maybe a restaurant.”
