The community of Bay Roberts is getting an iconic Newfoundland and Labrador retailer.
Pipers announced Monday they will be opening a new location in the community in August, an opportunity that will create 20 jobs in the region.
According to Pipers, this is a first-step of the store’s province-wide expansion plans.
“Our number one focus is giving our customers quality goods and convenient service at the lowest possible price,” Jamie Allister, Pipers’ president announced Monday in a news release.
“Unfortunately, we were not in a position to renew the building leases at O’Leary Avenue and Mount Pearl. But we are looking forward to welcoming those customers in our nearby stores, and serving new customers in Bay Roberts by the end of the summer,” he added.
Customers of O’Leary Avenue can be served at Pipers flagship store on Elizabeth Avenue and Mount Pearl customers can avail of the west end store on Topsail Road.
“We want to serve as many Newfoundlanders as possible. After all, we’re an iconic Newfoundland brand that is loyal to the people of this province,” Allister said.
“We’re very interested in expanding into new areas, and are currently looking into several opportunities.”
Pipers was established in 1982 and carries a host of items including a full line of clothing, hardware, housewares, linens, confectionery, grocery, cleaning supplies and health and beauty aids.
With four locations in the St. John’s area, Pipers offers quality and convenience at low prices.
As a responsible and respectful company, Pipers is committed to supporting the communities in which they operate through local charities, fundraisers, and events, and to building happy, healthy communities for their employees and customers.
