The Walmart and customers in Labrador City were recently honoured at the company’s annual meeting for raising more money for local charities than any other location in Canada.

According to a press release from the company, the store received the 2019 Community Award for raising $90,000, surpassing more than 400 others across the country.

“This accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without the people of Labrador City who worked with the store to help strengthen their local community,” the release read. “Go Labrador City!”

The company said the Labrador City location surpassed its fundraising goals for all four of Walmart’s national charity partners — Food Banks Canada, Canadian Red Cross, Breakfast Club of Canada and Children’s Miracle Network — this past year.
