The Transport and Allied Workers Union has been certified by the Canada Industrial Relations Board to represent cargo agents and ramp attendants at PAL Airlines in St. John’s.
The Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) filed an unfair labour practice complaint against PAL Aerospace after what the union describes as months of union-busting tactics and a management campaign of intimidation.
The PAL Aerospace pilots have since received CIRB certification and joined PAL Airlines and Air Borealis pilots in ALPA membership. PAL Airlines employs more than 160 pilots, represented by ALPA since June of 2019.
ALPA is the world’s largest pilot union, representing more than 63,000 pilots at 35 airlines in Canada and the U.S. and was founded in 1931.
